This extraordinary cycle cruise from Passau to the Iron Gate and Vienna on the 4****Sup. MS Primadonna combines an active cycling vacation with an impressive river cruise through several countries along the Danube. You will cycle along the most beautiful sections of the European Cycle Route E6 through varied landscapes - from the Wachau Valley via the Danube Bend to the spectacular breakthrough valley of the Iron Gate in the Carpathians. Fascinating cities such as Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest and Belgrade await you along the way, as well as impressive natural highlights such as the Duna-Dráva and Kopački rit national parks. While your floating hotel accompanies you, you enjoy comfortable cabins, full board and relaxing hours on board.Day 1, Arrival in Passau
Individual arrival by train or car. Transfer from the Donau Touristik private parking lot or Passau main station to the ship. Boarding from around 16:30.
Day 2, Wachau (53 km)Handover of the rental bikes (if booked). Past Melk with its imposing abbey and on to the wine-growing towns of Spitz, Dürnstein and Krems (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Day 3, Danube floodplains/Bratislava (40 km)Arrival at 9 a.m. Optional: guided city tour of Bratislava (1 hour). Car-free to the cultural island of Meulensteen (individual visit to the gallery) or on the Danube cycle path back to Šamorín.
Day 4, Puszta (55 km)After lunch: Optional: guided tour of Kalocsa Cathedral and Baroque Bishop's Palace (1 hour) or car-free past herds of cattle, pigs and horses to the Baroque town of Baja. Departure from Baja at 6 pm.
Day 5, Sava cycle path/Belgrade (35 km)Arrival in Belgrade at noon. Optional: city tour with Kalemegdan Fortress (2.5 hours). On the car-free Sava Cycle Path to the island of Ada Ciganlija and Lake Savsko Jezero. Back via the famous cycle bridge in Brankov and the car-free Waterfront district.
Day 6, Iron Gate and Kladovo (28 km)Arrival at 10 am. By bike to the Turkish fortress Fetislam and on to a winery near Vrbica/Korbovo. Back to the ship. Passage of the 120 km rocky Iron Gate route around 19:00 (sunset around 20:00).
Day 7, Golubac and Silver Lake (22-44 km)Golubac (largest fortress in Serbia, individual visit). After lunch, cycle tour from Veliko Gradište, car-free to Silver Lake/Srebrno Jezero and back; possibly continue to Ram.
Day 8, Novi Sad (46 km)Arrival in Novi Sad after breakfast. Magnificent cityscape, former capital of southern Hungary. Along the car-free Danube cycle path to a wine tasting near Futog. Optional: city tour with Peterwardein Fortress (3 hours). Cast off during dinner.
Day 9, Mohács (22-46 km)Cycle tour from Mohács through the Duna-Drava National Park to Kölked (stork museum), on to the Sátorhely battle memorial and back.
Day 10, Budapest (24 km)Optional: City tour by bus (3 hours) in the morning. Active version: cycle tour to the artists' town of Szentendre (55 km there and back). At 10 p.m. departure by boat through the festively illuminated Danube metropolis.
Day 11, Esztergom/Štúrovo (56 km)From Esztergom/Štúrovo on car-free embankment paths through small, dreamy places such as Moča to the fortress town of Komárno. Optional: visit to Monostori Fortress
Day 12, ViennaArrival approx. 9.30 a.m. Disembarkation by 10.30 a.m. Return journey by bus* or train to Passau to the Donau Touristik private parking lot/Passau main station or extra night in Vienna.
* Return transfer of customer's own bikes included on the return bus journey.
In the interest of your safety, the 1st captain may change the program of the trip at any time (even at short notice) due to high water, low water or other cases of FORCE MAJEURE. Arrival times are subject to lock waiting times and normal water levels.
