This 12-day Danube cruise with the 4****Sup. MS Primadonna takes you from the three-river city of Passau to the spectacular Iron Gate and ends in Vienna. Along the way, guests experience some of the most beautiful stretches of the Danube with impressive landscapes, historic towns and cultural highlights. The route leads through the Wachau, the Danube Bend and into the wild rocky landscape of the Iron Gate - a 120 km long breakthrough section between Serbia and Romania. Stops such as Bratislava, Budapest, Belgrade and Novi Sad offer exciting insights into history, architecture and the regional way of life. On board, travelers enjoy comfortable cruise service with full board as well as numerous opportunities for relaxation and varied excursions along the river.Day 1, Arrival
Individual arrival in Passau by train or car. Transfer from the Donau Touristik private parking lot or Passau main station to the ship. Boarding from approx. 16:30 hrs.
Day 2, Marbach/KremsAfter breakfast, walk through the gateway to the Wachau - Marbach (baroque church Maria Himmelfahrt). Continue on during lunch. In the afternoon, individual visit to a wine tavern or visit to the caricature museum. Optional: city tour of Krems (UNESCO World Heritage Site) from the ship.
Day 3, BratislavaIndividual sightseeing tour of the Slovakian capital (Bratislava, Primate's Palace, Old Town). After breakfast optional: guided city tour of Bratislava (1 hour). Departure from Bratislava with coffee and cake on board.
Day 4, Kalocsa/BajaOptional: guided tour of Kalocsa Cathedral and Baroque Bishop's Palace (1 hour). Late lunch on board and by boat to Baja. Individual tour of the baroque town.
Day 5, Belgrade (35 km)After lunch, individual sightseeing tour of Belgrade or optional: city tour with Kalemegdan Fortress (2.5 hours) and individual sightseeing.
Day 6, Kladovo/Iron GateIndividual sightseeing and after lunch optional: guided tour from the ship with wine tasting. Walk back to the ship. Passage 120 km Iron Gate rock route approx. 7 p.m. (sunset approx. 8 p.m.).
Day 7, Golubac/Veliko GradišteGolubac (largest fortress in Serbia, individual tour). In the afternoon, walk to the Silver Lake/Srebrno Jezero (approx. 7 km in total). Optional: bus excursion to the Roman Castrum.
Day 8, Novi SadVisit to the former capital of southern Hungary with its magnificent cityscape. Optional: city tour with Peterwardein Fortress (3 hours).
Day 9, MohácsBefore lunch, walk through Hungary's place of destiny (1526). Optional: coach excursion to Pécs (approx. 50 minutes by coach) with a tour and individual sightseeing.
Day 10, BudapestOptional: City tour by bus (3 hours) in the morning. Time for individual sightseeing in the afternoon. At 22:00 hrs departure by boat through the festively illuminated Danube metropolis.
Day 11, Esztergom/Štúrovo/KomárnoAfter breakfast optional: guided tour of Esztergom Cathedral. Optional: guided tour of the birthplace of Franz Lehár in the afternoon.
Day 12, ViennaDisembarkation by 10:30 am. Transfer back to Passau or extra night in Vienna
