Experience the exciting history of Ebelsberg Castle with your class and immerse yourself in the dramatic events of the Battle of Ebelsberg on May 3, 1809.

Ebelsberg Castle is particularly famous for this major battle, in which Austrian troops fought against Napoleonic France. This important battle was a decisive moment in the Napoleonic Wars and shaped the history of the region. Our experience is specially tailored to this era and lets you experience history in an exciting and interactive way.

We offer tailor-made programs for students of all ages - from preschool to high school - and guarantee a captivating and educational time for everyone! You will have the opportunity to step into the shoes of historical figures, learn more about the military strategies and life of the time and experience the castle and its surroundings from a completely new perspective.

For younger guests (preschool to 8 years)
For our younger guests aged 6 and over, we offer a creative arts and crafts program designed with lots of fun and imagination. The children make and paint small treasure chests, for example, before embarking on an exciting puzzle rally through the castle. At the end, the children can mint their own historical coins and take them home as souvenirs. There is also a room available where the snacks they have brought with them can be eaten.
Stations: Baroque handicrafts and painting, puzzle rally through the castle (indoor), minting coins
Duration: approx. 2 to 2.5 hours
Group size: up to 20 children/young people, teachers free of charge

For older children (8 to 10 years)
From the age of 8, the program becomes a little more challenging. The children can continue to be creative and do handicrafts, or experience an exciting movie screening that lets them delve deeper into the history of the battle of 1809. The puzzle station is adapted to the age of the children so that they can solve tricky tasks together as a team. There is also a room available where they can eat the snacks they have brought with them.

For secondary school and grammar school (from 10 years)
For older pupils, we offer a varied program that includes both exciting historical experiences and challenging team tasks. The virtual carriage ride and film screening immerse students in the events of the battle, while the team-building station and coin minting encourage cooperation and historical knowledge. There is also a room available where you can eat the snacks you have brought with you.

Additional services for all school classes:
Historical class photo: On request, pupils can dress up in historical costumes and take a photo in the castle. The edited class photo will be sent to the teacher by e-mail.

Escape room for team building (from 14 years)
For an additional team-building option, we offer the option of adding an escape room specifically designed to encourage collaboration and problem-solving skills among students. In this exciting adventure, students must work as a group to solve puzzles, collect clues and work together to find the exit within a set time. It is a challenging and exciting activity that requires team spirit, communication and creativity. The Escape Room provides a unique opportunity to build students' confidence and cooperation as they tackle tricky tasks in a historical setting. Scavenger hunt in the village
We offer two different levels of difficulty for the scavenger hunt through the town, depending on the age of the students. The younger adventurers, aged 6 to 8, will experience an exciting but age-appropriate hunt, while the older explorers, aged 8 to 16, will face more demanding puzzles and challenges. Please note that a supervisor must be provided by the teachers for the scavenger hunt to ensure the safety and smooth running of the activity.

Night watchman through Ebelsberg
Experience an exciting journey through Ebelsberg with the night watchman! Hear the call "Hear ye people, let me tell you, the tower clock has struck!" and discover the fascinating tasks of the night watchman in the Middle Ages. On this walk through the streets at night, the night watchman tells stories from times gone by and provides insights into the lives of the people at the gates of Linz - from the Middle Ages to the Napoleonic era. An exciting adventure that brings history to life and immerses you in the mysterious atmosphere of bygone eras.

Napoleonic snack - a culinary delight from history
"No food, no fight" - as Napoleon once said! After an exciting adventure in the castle or a thrilling hike with the night watchman, you can fortify yourself with a real Napoleonic snack. Enjoy hearty bacon, sausage, spicy spreads, freshly baked bread and delicious pastries - just like in Napoleon's time. The snack is the perfect end to your day full of discoveries and lets you experience history in a very special way.

History lessons in a special setting
Book our room at Ebelsberg Castle for a unique history lesson! Equipped with a projector and modern technology, the room provides the perfect backdrop for bringing history to life. Depending on your wishes, various services, such as film screenings or interactive experiences, can be integrated into the lesson. This makes learning in a historical location particularly vivid and exciting for the pupils.
