The new art trail in Kleinzell connects a total of 21 art installations at 20 stations along a 7.6-kilometer route or a shorter 4.2-kilometer loop. Their astonishing variety—including ceramics, readymades, installations, poetry, calligraphy, painting, sculpture, textile art, sound art, children’s art, radio art, and features—also lends unexpected meaning to the landscape in between. We hear, touch, see, smell, or read in new ways: a sensory journey unfolds. Art and hiking intertwine as equals.
The trail is a themed loop hike designed to combine views of nature with insights into art. Along the 7.6-kilometer route—or a shorter 4.2-kilometer loop—there are about 20 stations featuring various art objects that not only invite visitors to observe them but also encourage them to actively create, transform, or simply play with wood, stones, or textiles. The trail was curated by Peter Androsch, and the illustrations are by Thomas Paster.
