Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Hora est | Te deum | Ave Maria
On the eve of St. Mary's Day, the Waldhausen Collegiate Church will be the setting for a vocal night of extraordinary rarities: In addition to 555 harpsichord sonatas, Domenico Scarlatti created one of the most important vocal works of the 18th century with his "Stabat mater". Like Scarlatti, the young Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy also managed without an orchestra in his vocal works for up to 16 voices and composed his unique "Te deum" in 1826 in the spirit of Bach's motets.
