This biking tour along the Danube Bike Path offers an expedition through the variety presented by the regions between Schärding / Passau and Vienna. You will have the opportunity to try regional culinary treats that will make your palate rejoice whilst on your bike tour along the Danube.

Day 1 - Individual arrival in Passau
Your cycle tour along the Danube cycle path starts in Passau in Germany. Check into your room and hand over your cycle tour documents at the hotel. You will collect your hire bikes for your cycle tour along the Danube Cycle Path at the bike hire desk. Hotel example: Hotel Passauer Wolf **** in Passau
Day 2 - From Passau to Engelhartszell/surroundings, approx. 30 km
From Passau, you start your cycle tour along the Danube through the Upper Danube Valley towards Engelhartszell. Tip: Pay a visit to the monks at Engelszell Abbey and sample the excellent liqueurs they produce. Hotel example: Hotel-Restaurant Goldenes Schiff*** in Engelhartszell
Day 3 - From Engelhartszell/surroundings to Aschach/Eferding, approx. 40 km
A unique natural spectacle on the Danube awaits you on your cycle tour in Upper Austria: the river meanders of the Schlögener Schlinge. A short but steep climb to the Schlögener Blick reveals a breathtaking view of the Danube valley in Upper Austria. Continue to the Danube town of Aschach. Hotel example: Hotel Sonne in Aschach
Day 4 - From Aschach/Eferding to Linz, approx. 30 km
Your cycle tour along the Danube cycle path takes you through the expanses of the Eferding basin to Linz, the capital of Upper Austria. Tip: savour a slice of Linzer Torte in the city's coffee houses. Hotel example: ARCOTEL Nike**** in Linz
Day 5 - From Linz to Wallsee/Mitterkirchen, approx. 45 km
The cycle path along the Danube takes you through the flat Machland region to Wallsee today. Hotel example: Wallseerhof*** in Wallsee
Day 6 - From Wallsee/Mitterkirchen to Marbach/Umgebung, approx. 45 km
On your cycling holiday in Austria, you cycle through the partly untouched floodplain landscape along the Danube. Your route takes you through the formerly wild Strudengau region to Marbach/Umgebung. Hotel example: Hotel Zur Schönen Wienerin*** in Marbach
Day 7 - From Marbach/environs to Krems, approx. 50 km
The picturesque landscape of the Wachau is characterised by lovely vineyards and the magnificent baroque Melk Abbey. Enjoy your cycle tour in Lower Austria through world-famous towns such as Melk, Dürnstein and Spitz. Hotel example: Arte Hotel Krems in Krems
Day 8 - From Krems to Tulln, approx. 40 km
Take another look at the impressive vineyards of the Wachau before your cycle tour takes you along the Danube through the Tullner Feld to Tulln. Hotel example: Best Western Hotel in Tulln
Day 9 - From Tulln to Vienna, approx. 35 km
Vienna has a wealth of sights waiting for you to visit. The Prater, Schönbrunn Palace with its zoo or the Vienna Hofburg are definitely worth a visit. Hotel example: Hotel Roomz Prater**** in Vienna
Day 10 - Return journey to Passau or additional nights
Return journey from the cycling holiday on the Danube Cycle Path to Passau, in seasons A and B by train (transfer of own bikes not included) in season C by bus (transfer of own bikes included) or on request also by train (transfer of own bikes not included). Individual journey home.
