When the album "Gas Mask" by Detroit group "The Left" was released in 2010, "Apollo Brown" was only known to very few as a producer, but this was to change forever with this masterpiece.
All the ingredients were already in place: cleverly chopped samples from the soul and library corner, crisp drums and, with JOURNALIST 103, an MC who knows how to handle such boards. Add to that cuts by DJ Soko and the three went on their first European tour in 2011, and yes, their very first show was to take them to the KAPU. So this year they're celebrating 15 years of "Gas Mask", and because Detroit against everybody still applies, our universally esteemed rapper GUILTY SIMPSON will be joining them on tour as a bonus treat, not only performing tracks from his Apollo Brown-produced album "Dice Game", but also the highlights of his work from the J Dilla to Madlib corner. It's still cold in the D!Kapuzinerstraße 36, 4020 Linz
