L.A.S.S.O. Clara Boesl, Andrés Quintero - It's still early

The series L.A.S.S.O. shows works by Linz artists who use a Salzamt or Linz AG studio. Andrés Quintero (Colombia) is currently Artist in Residence at the invitation of Clara Boesl.

Luis said: "Maybe this rock will go away one day." "This rock" is a marker along a path in the eastern Andes of Colombia. It marks a route that leads from one village to the next. At the same time, it also carries a local cosmogony, a form of knowledge about the creation of the world. The oral tradition goes something like this: When it became light, important characters of the time turned into rocks to survive, to wait.

In the state of waiting, a space opens up. The dormant mineral contains a seemingly infinite latency in which permanence and the possibility of change exist simultaneously. This exhibition explores how narratives, landscapes and objects are preserved, altered and rewritten.
