Experience Linz Zoo from a completely new perspective  On this special tour, you will take an exciting look behind the scenes of the zoo and discover what makes today's zoo what it is.

Find out how it all began - from the humble beginnings to the lively home of today, where over 600 animals from around 110 species have found their home. We give you an insight into the varied everyday life, show you the feed kitchen, explain how the animals are fed and reveal which special menus are on the menu.

You can also find out how zoos have changed over the course of time - from mere animal enclosures to important centers for species conservation, research and education. Linz Zoo is actively involved in international breeding programs and thus contributes to the preservation of endangered species. Native animal species also find protection here: some of them are even successfully reintroduced into the wild.
