Their tired thoughts revolve around their last hours and what their lives may have been like. Only one boy knows nothing: his every step is carried by a cheerfulness that he would like to share with the others. Bells ring out. The boy realizes that the hour has come to end his aimless journey ... In her story The Caravan and the Resurrection, Ingeborg Bachmann addressed the big questions of transcendence, redemption and the meaning of life just a few years after the end of the Second World War. Composer Wolfgang Sauseng and librettist Elisabeth Vera Rathenböck, together with Chorus sine nomine and Johannes Hiemetsberger, impressively bring the prose of the Austrian writer, who would have celebrated her 100th birthday in 2026, to the stage.
