The best wooden buildings in the country

The touring exhibition "The best timber buildings in the state" for the Upper Austrian Timber Construction Award 2025 puts the spotlight on modern timber construction and highlights its ecological, technical and economic advantages.

The projects presented in the exhibition are complemented by current issues relating to the entire timber value chain, including the effects of climate change on forestry and forestry management as well as the opportunities of digitalization for value-added processes in the trade. In addition to facts and best-practice projects, the exhibition deliberately focuses on emotional appeal: experts and "colorful birds" from the forestry and timber industry dispel myths and convey enthusiasm for wood as a building material. These lively testimonials make wood not only a rational but also an emotional experience. The modular exhibition starts its tour through the whole country at the afo.
