Advent concert by the St. Florian Boys' Choir

A Ceremony of Carols.

On December 17, the St. Florian Boys' Choir and their choirmaster Markus Stumpner invite you to an atmospheric Advent concert in the Friedenskirche Linz/Urfahr. Festive and contemplative choral works will be performed under the title A Ceremony of Carols.
The focus of the program is Benjamin Britten's famous work A Ceremony of Carols for three-part boys' choir and harp. Composed in 1942, the piece combines medieval texts with modern harmony and rhythmic liveliness. The choirboys will be accompanied by Werner Karlinger on the harp.
The first part of the concert also includes The Lord bless you, Cantate Domino and Amazing Grace, choral works by John Rutter, Karl Jenkins and Ralph Vaughan Williams, which complement the festive program with their impressive timbres and warm harmonies.

The second part of the concert is traditionally dedicated to Alpine Christmas. In arrangements by Franz Farnberger, Hans Bachl and Sepp Karl, the choirboys interpret well-known carols such as Still, still, still, Kommet, ihr Hirten or Im Wald is so stad.
Klaus Sonnleitner will accompany them on the organ and, as he does every year, will conclude the evening by singing O du fröhliche together.

The concert on 17.12.2025 is the last opportunity to hear this program of the choirboys.
