 **Description:**
From the center, this route leads into the Stephaniehain and past the earth cellar there. The history of the earth cellar is described on a display panel for the interested individual guest. The path ends at the bank of the Naarn River, which you follow upstream to a quarry. A few steps further, you cross the Naarntal federal road and hike into the forest. Here the path leads to the "Edtbauer" farm, then continues on paved farm roads and finally on sidewalks into the Pasching district. Along the edge of the forest you reach and cross Münzbacher Straße. The path continues along the creek; a panel recalls the Mitterberg Castle ruins after a few hundred meters. After a short ascent through the community forest, you reach a settlement via forest roads, pass the Karlingberger estate, and return to the city center.**Tip:**
The "Ratgöbluckn" earth cellar is considered the longest still accessible earth cellar. It is a protected monument and can also be visited by small groups of six (6) people or more (contact Heimat- und Museumsverein Perg). On Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the Heimathaus City Museum Perg is open, where visitors can learn even more about the history of the Mitterberg Castle ruins and much about the history of the city of Perg, its geological peculiarity (sandstone for the Perg millstones, and much more);**Safety guidelines:**
Please observe the warnings about forestry work - turn back if you see these warning signs - there is a danger to life. Dogs must be kept on a leash!**Equipment:**

Perg natural forest pool experience

**FORMER and NOW:**
At the entrance to the Naarntal valley lies the public swimming centre 'Schwimmschule' - Waldbad, built at the turn of the century. Many holidaymakers visited this establishment. A swimming instructor gave swimming lessons to children and adults there.

Perg was not only discovered as a summer holiday destination in recent years. Even 50 years ago, Perg was already popular with summer guests, mostly from Vienna and Linz (outstanding members of the Vienna Burgtheater were summer guests at the "Stiegenwirt" 40 years ago), who chose Perg as their summer holiday destination. Perg probably owes its attraction for summer guests first and foremost to the marvellous Naarn with its clear, iron-brown water. The swimming school, the baths, well maintained by the local beautification association, offer the most pleasant summer and water pleasures for young and old alike.

The favourable location of Perg offers summer visitors pleasant walks and excursions both on the plain and in the wooded mountains. The town of Perg is surrounded by forest on its entire northern side, by the beautifully maintained Stephaniehain with its many resting places and beautiful views. (Created on the occasion of the marriage of Crown Prince Rudolf to Stephanie of Belgium on 10 May 1881). This beautiful nature park was created for Perg in an exemplary and solid manner thanks to the care of Mr Thannheiser, Mr Fries and Mr Burgholzer, who were eager members of the beautification association. Summer visitors can hike for hours in the berry- and mushroom-rich forests along the Naarntal valley, relax in the aromatic forest air, enjoy a meal in the Naarntal valley's restaurants and take a refreshing dip at any time to refresh their tired limbs.

Gasthof Lettner

The house, first mentioned in a document in 1590 as the Lebzelterhaus, is run as a family business. We offer you everything you need to make your stay in the heart of Perg as pleasant as possible. The guest rooms, equipped with shower, WC, telephone and satellite TV, present themselves in a modern ambience. Barrier-free rooms are available on the ground floor.

The cosy parlour or, in the warmer months, the shady garden in the courtyard invite you to linger. Special attention is paid to the cuisine, which is overseen by the host Herbert Lettner: His regional and international specialities and seasonal dishes such as asparagus, chanterelles and game enjoy an excellent reputation among gourmets; a fine drop of wine rounds off the offer from the kitchen. Individual requirements, such as quick lunch dishes for those in a hurry or exquisite menus in the evening, are gladly catered for.

Karlingberger Gut

We warmly welcome you to the Karlingbergerhof in Perg.

We are a cosy Heuriger with an excellent ambience on the outskirts of Perg. At our Heuriger, young and old meet for a few cosy hours of relaxation and to enjoy our homemade specialities from the cellar, field and stable. We also have a small butcher's shop, a bakery and a cidery, where we produce our own delicacies. There is also the possibility to take one or the other delicacy home with you in our farm shop. For friends of warm cuisine we can offer a warm buffet with salad buffet. There are at least 6 different warm dishes to choose from at any time (e.g.: Bratl, Surbratl, Blunz'n, Knödel, ...).

The Langeder family is looking forward to your visit
