Tel.: +43 (0) 72 82 / 53 55-0 **Bewaldetes Hochland...** Etwa ein Viertel bis ein Drittel des zentralmühlviertler Hochlandes sind von Wald bedeckt, die Bewaldung nimmt seit wenigen Jahrhunderten ständig zu. Auch heute setzt sich dieser Trend durch die Aufgabe landwirtschaftlicher Nutzungen („Bauernsterben“) fort und führte in den letzten 20 Jahren zu einer Waldzunahme von 5 bis 10 %. Natürliche Waldtypen wären hauptsächlich Buchenwälder, tatsächlich ist im aktuellen Waldbild die Fichte der dominante Waldbaum. Ausnahmen sind Tieflagen und steile, naturnahe Hangwälder, wo vermehrt Laubbäume vorkommen. Werden die Fichtenforste jahrzehntelang unternutzt, sind sie anfälliger für Unwetterereignisse und Folgeschäden, wie Käferbefall (Buchdrucker) und Kleine Fichtenblattwespe. In Eintracht mit der Natur zu leben ist wundervoll und wenn man die Natur und ihre Wesen zu schätzen weiß und andere nicht um ihr Glück beneidet, wird sie es einem auch danken.
