The story told in the new museum begins in 1186 with the “Georgenberg Charter,” which came into being through the peaceful union of the duchies “Austria” and “Styria”—is considered Austria’s first state treaty, and with the “city charter” granted in 1212—making Enns the oldest city in our country. In eight rooms at Ennsegg Castle, visitors can once again embark on a journey through the development of the city of Enns up to the present day. Multimedia stations and room-specific presentations help visitors experience the city’s history up close, understand it better, and remember it for longer.
