Literature Ship Initiative
Association for literary encounters in Upper Austria

The Literature Ship sees itself as a hub between storytellers, writers and readers.

Its tasks and goals are

• To promote and communicate literature, art and culture in all its linguistic diversity

• Debates on literary topics and socially and culturally relevant issues

• Promotion of literature for children and young people

• Promotion of kindergartens and schools in the field of literature

• Promoting cooperation with various art and cultural venues and cultural associations in Upper Austria and beyond

• Promoting co-operation with existing photography, film, literature and museum associations

• Promoting the integration of people with a migration background in order to bring their literature and writers closer to the regions of Upper Austria and beyond

• Promotion of literary and cultural events, in particular the presentation of young but also renowned authors, as well as the preparation and organisation of lectures, readings, book discussions and cultural performances

• Presentations of publications from the literatures of the world
