Martin-Luther-Platz is located at the intersection of Landstraße and Johann-Konrad-Vogel-Straße, next to Martin-Luther-Kirche and City Park, and has a total area of around 2,000 square metres. According to earlier building regulations, the Protestant Martin Luther Church had to be built 50 metres back from the road, as it was not allowed to dominate the streetscape. This created the large square in front of the church, which now emphasises it even more.
