With the construction of a barrier-free cultural trail along the Danube promenade, a dedicated group has created another cultural highlight in the market town, which is specially designed for people with disabilities. **Project organiser:** ARGE Kulturlehrpfad Aschach Langothweg 1 DI Dr Helmut Holl Twelve selected historical buildings along the Danube promenade are made tangible and communicable in a special and exciting way. Short, concise information is presented in black and braille using audio description so that it can also be perceived and understood by people with disabilities. This enables equal participation in culture for ALL people. The stations were set up along the Danube from the parish church to Schopperplatz. Right next to the gravelled path are various catering establishments, which provide an ideal complement. The information is supported by steel columns anchored in concrete foundations. They are designed to be unobtrusive and functional in order to ensure optimum adaptation to the respective surroundings. Each point contains text information in Braille and black letter as well as tactile models of the buildings presented. A detailed audio description provides information about architectural styles and the function of the market, such as market jurisdiction, importance and shipping or viticulture in the region, based on the respective building. Each location offers a sign language translation via a monitor. Easy-to-read texts make it possible for people with learning disabilities to absorb the information - a particularly important point given the geographical proximity to the Hartheim Institute.
