From here, the rococo Engelszell Abbey Church and the abbey itself with its famous abbey liqueurs and beers are just a few minutes' walk away. The Schütz Art Museum presents works of art from the 19th century to art nouveau, classical modernism, avant-garde, expressionism and contemporary art in a unique architectural setting. Numerous great excursion destinations in the surrounding area - including the well-known treetop walk in Kopfing and the IKUNA nature resort in Natternbach - offer visitors a variety of insights into the charming landscape and the special features of the Danube Valley. Just a few kilometers away is the late antique castle of Oberranna, also known as "STANACUM". An approximately 1700-year-old Roman fort, it is considered one of the best-preserved ancient buildings in Upper Austria. The Danube Limes, part of the former Roman border system and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2021 with all its excavation sites, ran along the Danube from Regensburg to the Black Sea and was an important borderline of the Roman Empire.
