CASTLE “SCHLOSS BERGHEIM”:
This castle, today a school building, used to be a water castle. Once a round tower at the entrance side overtopped the building but through the increase of the old facility it was incorporated into the walls. This tower and the attached living complex used to stand an island in the middle of a rectangular pond. The pond was filled up to gain space for the rebuilding. At this place a wing was constructed, which presents a direct connection to the Meierhof.
The interior of the castle, besides few stucco ceilings, a baroque staircase, a fireplace and a few paintings of the 18th and 19th century, has nothing remarkable to offer anymore. The castle was completely renovated and redesigned.
