Lembach). On 17 May 1626, a deadly brawl between the local farmers and the Bavarian occupying soldiers was the cause of the great "Upper Austrian Peasants' War". The somewhat hidden "Habach" inn was the headquarters of the rebellious peasants (no longer an inn!). On an elevation - the beech tree was felled in 1937 - the peasants lit a bonfire, signalling the start of the battle. A beech tree was planted again on the occasion of the Peasants' War commemorations in 1976. A memorial plaque at the former Habach inn commemorates the courageous uprising of the peasants.
