It was built between 1770 and 1774 by the Ljubljana priest and **organ builder Franz Xaver Chrisman** and named in 1930 after the former Florian choirboy, teacher and organist **Anton Bruckner**. Anton Bruckner is buried under the famous Bruckner organ in the Augustinian canons' monastery of St Florian.
