Location of the regionThe \"Hausruck Nord\" region is located in the northern part of Upper Austria in the district of Grieskirchen. It covers an area of 232.2 km², of which over 80% can be used as permanent settlement areas (excluding forests, bodies of water, moors and transport areas). Visually, this section of the landscape presents itself as a basin. In the north, from Natternbach via Neukirchen am Walde to St. Agatha, there is a ridge (altitude: 500-700 metres) which is a foothill of the Bohemian Granite Massif. Small rivers and streams originate here and flow southwards towards the Danube. The Neumarkt and Peuerbach basins are located in the southern part. The region is surrounded by the districts of Ried in the west, Schärding in the north and west, Eferding in the east and the \"Mostlandl Hausruck\" region in the south (remaining municipalities of the GR district).
