A tour of the Schopper Museum not only provides fascinating insights into the social and economic conditions of the Schoppers through original artifacts, display panels, and interviews with eyewitnesses, but also offers information about the wooden boats once built in Aschach through the use of models. The shipbuilder derives the name "Schopper" from the activity of "Schoppen," which refers to the sealing of joints during the construction of ships, rafts, or barges. Progress and change in the fishing industry are also vividly explored and brought to life through impressive exhibits. In addition to numerous specimens of fish species found in the Danube basin, various aquatic animals are also on display. One of the main tasks of the Upper Austrian Provincial Fisheries Association is to preserve and pass on the cultural heritage of fishing, which has been handed down from generation to generation. **Guided tours for groups:** Available year-round by appointment.
