Location and getting there
If you arrive by car, coming from direction Munich or Regensburg, take the highways A1 (Salzburg - Linz), coming from direction Vienna take the A1 (Vienna - Linz).
If you want to travel toll-free, take the "Donauuferstraßen" (Danube quays) starting at Passau, which also offer a beautiful landscape to drive through.
Travellers arriving by train choose the train stations Passau, Linz or Amstetten on the western train trail. Use the train as a comfortable way of arriving at your Danube-getaway, both from Austria or from abroad, for example from Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, Stuttgart and Frankfurt.
The "Donauuferbahn" brings its passengers to the Danube villages along the left banks of the Strudengau, or the "Mühlkreisbahn" from Linz onwards into the "Mühlviertel".
Many hosts offer to pick up their guests from the train stations.
