Festival for art, technology and society September 9 - 13, 2026In year 1 after POSTCITY, the Ars Electronica Festival is reinventing itself. Instead of a central festival location, the five-day event will turn Linz's city center into both a stage and a forum for art, technology and society. Three large hubs and a number of other event locations will be used and new formats will be developed. Thematically, the festival is dedicated to the annual focus "The Future Begins", but adds the subtitle "Negotiating Humanity". At its core, it is about taking stock and asking what it means to be human today.
