The main town of St. Nikola an der Donau is the last Upper Austrian municipality on the border with the state of Lower Austria. The old boatmen’s market lies in the heart of the legendary Strudengau region and lives up to its name with the annual visit of St. Nicholas on December 6 by boat, as well as the St. Nicholas Church in town.
