Closure of the Nibelungen Road B 130 in Esternberg

24 April to 5 May 2023

Due to necessary rock protection works, there will be a total closure of the road B 130 Nibelungen Bundesstraße in the municipal area of Esternberg.

The Danube Cycle Path R1 remains open! However, there may be short-term stops on some days.

The works will already start on Monday. 17 April 2023, whereby no obstructions are to be expected in the first week, only a half-sided closure.

A total closure for motor vehicle traffic is planned as follows:
Monday, April 24, 2023, 7 a.m. to Friday, April 28, 2023, 6 p.m. (continuous).
Tuesday, 2 May 2023, 7 a.m. to Friday, 5 May 2023, 6 p.m. (continuous)
Saturday, Sunday and 1 May public holiday OPEN

Diversions route coming from Linz: B130 (Kasten) - L1159 (direction Vichtenstein) - L1155 (direction Esternberg) - L1157 (direction Passau B130) or reverse direction 

Coming from Linz, the Felsenhütt-Obernzell car ferry is open to motor vehicle traffic. The barrier only begins after the ferry station upstream on the Danube.

The Linz-Passau bus route runs via the diversion route, so please expect delays.

The Donausteig trail or hiking trails are not affected by this rock protection work.
