If you cycle on through the small village of Mettensdorf, it is worth making a short detour to [Baumgartenberg Abbey](https://www.donauregion.at/oesterreich-poi/detail/401553/stiftskirche-baumgartenberg.html), with its magnificent collegiate church. If you follow the Danube cycle path, it leads directly to the banks as far as [Grein](https://www.donauregion.at/grein.html "Link öffnet sich in neuem Fenster"). It is possible to cross the Danube in the small shipping town of Grein using the [cycle ferry](https://www.donauregion.at/radfahren-am-donauradweg/donau-faehren.html) (note ferry times). Follow the hiking trail along the Danube to the actual starting point of the circular tour, the town square in Naarn. You walk past the Maria Laab pilgrimage church towards the millstone town of Perg. **Tip:** A short detour to the millstone museum Steinbrecherhaus makes you realise the former importance of Perg! Numerous panoramic views, such as at the "Stadler Gründe" rest area or at the Kalvarienberg in Perg, offer hikers fantastic views of the Strudengau region.
